Queen's Mine is a village in Matabeleland North, Zimbabwe and is located about 55 km north-east of Bulawayo along the Bulawayo-Eastnor road. The village grew up around Queen's Gold Mine which was pegged on the site of ancient diggings in 1893. It derived its name from the nearby Ndebele queen's kraal.
In 2006, Queens Gold Mine was the lowest-cost primary gold producer in Africa, producing 140,276 ounces of gold at an average total cash cost of $1,516.00 per ounce. The company has exploration properties and operating mines in four major mining districts. The West Nickelson mine produced 160,563 ounces of gold in 2006.
